New Performing Arts Venue, Queensland Culture Centre

The New Performing Arts Venue is described as “the most significant cultural project in Brisbane in over a decade.” Housing a 1,500-seat theatre, the new centre will feature an undulating glass facade, which draws inspiration from Indigenous Australian artist Aunty Lilla Watson’s poem about the Kurilpa (water rat). The transparent facade contrasts with the solidity the Robin Gibson-designed Queensland Culture Centre.
