Property Council of Australia – Brisbane be bold

Michael Rayner gave the keynote speech at the Property Council of Australia’s Be Bold seminar held at Herbert Smith Freehills’ conference centre on November 9 2023.

His talk focused on how the Brisbane City Centre can be made much more cohesive with the idea of creating 5 connecting green corridors using existing spaces, and then positioning new attractions and places on them. This would result in different pedestrian bridges than previously considered, including to New Farm and Hawthorn/Bulimba.

Michael named the 7 priority cultural and lifestyle developments he believes would be most valuable for the city centre, the last being a long term one to redevelop the Mayne Railyards into a new sustainable metropolis. The other 6 he believes should all be done by the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
