Sian Farrell graduated with a Master of Architecture from the Queensland University of Technology in 2015, and a Master of Urban Design from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Toulouse and QUT in 2014.
Sian worked with KP Architects from 2015-2021, where she was an Associate, primarily on hospitality projects including pubs, clubs, cafés and restaurants. An example of this is the $5 million refurbishment of the Boundary Hotel in West End, including renovation of the existing hotel and extensions into a beer garden, mezzanine dining, and courtyards.
Since joining Blight Rayner in 2021, Sian has been project architect on the $50 million The Lanes Town Centre on the Gold Coast on which she has undertaken extensive design development, coordination of the project design team and coordination of all consultants work. Sian has also acted as project leader for the Dalby Civic Square project which will create a new heard for Dalby replacing a large hotel which burnt down in 2018.
I believe collaboration and sharing knowledge is one of the key factors to both a successful project and a great team. Helping to develop the skills and experience of students and graduates gives them the independence and agency to have pride to the work created.
