Architecture is intrinsically tied to culture, history and our environment and I am interested in exploring the myriad ways that these intersections manifest. I believe that the beauty of our built environment lies in the smallest details and I enjoy using these details to create unique architectural expressions and identities.

Lucy Nicklin

Experienced Architectural Graduate

Lucy Nicklin is an experienced architectural graduate with more than nine years professional experience encompassing retail, mixed use, hotels, commercial office space, airports, restaurants, residential and theatre design.

Lucy holds a Master of Architectural Design from The University of Queensland and
a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Film, TV and New Media) from Queensland University of Technology.

She was awarded the UQ Birrell Scholarship for Academic Excellence in 2015. In 2016-17, she undertook an international university exchange at the Technische Universität Berlin.

Lucy’s career began with mostly small practices in Brisbane, then from 2023 to 2025 in the UK with Pascall + Watson and SPPARC Architects, joining Blight Rayner in 2026.

In Australia, Lucy worked on West Village mixed retail and residential development in Brisbane, Curtin University student accommodation in Perth and a series of private residences. In London, she worked on the heritage refurbishment of the Saville Theatre in London and an airport design competition in Al Wajh, Saudi Arabia.

Lucy is a welcome addition to our design team, bringing skills in multiple typologies.
