Chris Bowerbank joined Blight Rayner specifically to work on and manage retail projects, like the entertainment and leisure expansion of Mount Ommaney Shopping Centre.
Chris has a Master of Project Management degree and has worked for several years as a client-side representative, thus appreciating the economic drivers underpinning commercial decisions. We see this experience as highly beneficial in enabling us to optimise design solutions understanding the parameters around design and technical issues.
Chris has been the Creative Director at Vabasis, BIM Coordinator at DWP Suters, and a Project Leader at The Buchan Group. He has worked on Macarthur Central, Robina Town Centre and Toowong Shopping Centre refurbishments, and undertaken fitouts across Australia for retailers like Tiffany & Co. and H&M. He also brings experience in multi-residential, private hospital, community centre and courts architecture.
Architecture must be functional, responding to the requisites of life if it is to be successful. As architects, we must sustain the intrinsic balance between providing societal value and commercial realities, I thrive off the daily challenges to appease both conditions.
