The Lanes Café & Bandstand is a distinct part of the wider Lanes retail village, located along a lake edge and fronted by a large common.

The bandstand is designed to form a café during the day. Sliding walls enable conversion at night for bands to play while enabling the café to continue to operate. Beyond the café is a pavilion over the lake, providing additional café seating as well as casual social gathering.

The base of the café/bandstand structure is a concrete plinth that copes with potential flooding and is sculpted to form the café counters and bench seats.

Materials include copper roofing and walls variously combining tiling with battening and cementitious boarding.
