Ballymore National Rugby Training Centre Construction Update
Ongoing construction of the $30 million project is delivering a valuable piece of infrastructure within Brisbane’s Olympic facilities plan.
Where once the entrance was a cavernous space which required imagination to fill in the shapes, is now framing of the main foyer walls and ceilings.
Painting of the auditorium’s feature ceiling and polishing of the concrete floor slab give strong hints of what will be a well-used space in the finished facility.
The first joinery features have been also added with the steel-pressed door frames giving the rooms more identity.
The installation of grandstand light fixtures and completion of cladding on two façades is adding to the excitement of how significant the new Ballymore will be for Rugby in Queensland.
Having a top-grade Field 3 for training and games, under new lighting, is one of the bonuses within the master plan.
Compaction of the field base and a complete irrigation and drainage plan will make this a training space that has never before been available in such a range of weather conditions.
