I’m passionate about design that makes a difference - led by thoughtful detail and shaped by context. Responsive design can create connection and transform environments into experiences.

Architect

Catherine Liu gained a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Melbourne in 2018 and since has become a registered architect.

After graduating, Catherine worked for six years at Richard Kirk Architects, five of which were on the national award-winning James Cook University Engineering and Innovation Centre in Townsville. Through this project, she gained valuable experience in space planning, design development and design visualisation. Subsequent to this project, Catherine worked on the University of Sunshine Coast Moreton Bay Campus Expansion from competition design to tender and then managed the interior documentation. She was then second in charge to the project architect on The University of Queensland Lakes Soundshell, followed by working on the Central Queensland University New Campus in Cairns. She subsequently worked as the project architect on social housing in Tamarind Street, Inala.

Catherine left Kirk Architects to join Blight Rayner in 2025 and has brought her design, visualisation and design development skills to three projects – a new office building on 60 Queen Street and major foyer refurbishment on 240 Queen Street in the Brisbane CBD, and a new residential and hotel development adjoining the iconic Breakfast Creek Hotel in Albion.
