University of Queensland Master Class Studio 2016

Michael Rayner ran the University of Queensland Master of Architecture Master Class design studio in 2016. The project was to design a pedestrian bridge from West End to UQ’s St Lucia campus, together with a new rowing centre. It produced rich conceptual thinking about things like how universities and communities engage and as extraordinary diversity of solutions. One of the top students, Sophie Briggs, has joined Blight Rayner this year as an architectural graduate. Paul Focic, an associate at Cox Architecture t/a Cox Rayner, was Michael’s joint studio leader.
