Tim Watson

Architectural Graduate
BArch, MArch (UQ)

Tim Watson graduated with a Master of Architecture from The University of Queensland in 2016. As a student, he undertook an internship with renowned Japanese architect Go Hasegawa in Tokyo. He worked at Nielsen Jenkins Architecture (then MJA) and at Phorm Architecture + Design, both dynamic small Brisbane practices where he gained design and documentation experience. While studying at The University of Queensland, Tim was a research assistant examining solutions to tsunami-devastated areas of Japan with Dr Andrew Wilson and Professor Momoyo Kaijima of the University of Tsukuba and Atelier Bow Wow.

Tim is an integral member of our design team, involved in both high level conceptualisation and detailed design of crafted elements. He has, like Blight Rayner as a whole, deep interest in the way crafting of materials enriches experience of place.

As an architectural graduate, I am open to all possibilities in architecture, but if I were to nominate one keen interest it is how crafting of materials can enhance the human experience.
