Madeleine Swete Kelly

Senior Architect
BDes(ArchSt), MArch (QUT), RAIA

Madeleine Swete Kelly graduated with a Masters of Architecture from Queensland University of Technology in 2011, and gained her practice registration in 2014.  Before joining Blight Rayner in 2016, she worked for three and a half years with Channon Architects, principally on single and multi-residential projects. Prior to this, Madeleine worked for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees in Geneva.

Madeleine has tutored at Queensland University of Technology since 2013 and has published worked on the future of Australian cities.  In 2014, her paper, ‘Responsible Reconstruction: the Architect’s Role’ was published in Open House International.

As a project architect with Blight Rayner, Madeleine is a team leader for the 20 level 11 Breakfast Creek Road office building at Newstead Riverpark, and a key member of our urban renewal design team.

I am captivated by the stories that underline a project - the client’s or the site's or the community's history. I like seeing architecture as an evolution from past to future. I’m also interested in how projects are delivered, and tailoring our methodologies to the delivery process.
