Brendan Smith coordinates Blight Rayner’s Building Information Modelling (BIM) systems, as well as our Revit drafting standards.
Prior to joining Blight Rayner in 2016, Brendan managed the BIM technologies and documentation structures for several large architectural practices including Peddle Thorp, PDT Architects, Daryl Jackson Architects, and Hassell Studio in Brisbane.
In each practice, he was the BIM/Revit Coordinator overseeing substantial project teams. Examples of his major projects in this role are the Cairns Base Hospital Redevelopment (Daryl Jackson), Mater Springfield Private Hospital (PDT), Boggo Road EcoSciences Precinct (Hassell) and The Corso, a civic building at North Lakes (PDT).
Brendan’s specific skills comprise detailed knowledge of the Building Code of Australia, advanced Revit and Navisworks coordination, advanced Revit modelling and content creation, BIM protocols and template development.
Being a new practice set up by accomplished directors, Blight Rayner gives me the exciting opportunity to re-think the conventions around BIM, Revit and other 3D technologies.
