Arlyn Mangabat - Blight Rayner

I see my primary role as a problem-solver, using my detailing skills to inform designers what is possible to fulfil their design aspirations.

Arlyn Mangabat

BArch (Mapúa), BOAQ

Senior Architect

Arlyn Mangabat is a long term colleague of Jayson Blight and Michael Rayner, working with them at Cox Rayner Architects from 1997 to 2014. She joined Blight Rayner from Woods Bagot in 2017.

Arlyn has been a senior design development and documentation architect for projects across all sectors. With Cox Rayner, she worked on the Brisbane Magistrates Court, Thuringowa Riverway (winner of the Australian Institute of Architects National Urban Design Award 2009), BCEC on Grey Street (Brisbane Convention + Exhibition Centre expansion), Queensland Museum and Science Centre Refurbishment, and the University of Queensland Oral Health Centre (AIA National Education Architecture Award 2013).

With Woods Bagot, Arlyn was a key team member on Aurecon’s 600 staff workplace fitout in the Brisbane RNA Regeneration Project. The building was Brisbane’s first CLT and timber-supported office development. Arlyn has extensive other workplace fitout experience, including for Suncorp at Brisbane Square and Cooper Grace Ward Lawyers at 400 George Street.

At Blight Rayner, Arlyn has been a senior detail architect on The Lanes Retail Village on the Gold Coast, the New Performing Arts Venue at South Bank, and was the Project Architect for the refurbishment of 100 Brookes Street in Fortitude Valley. Arlyn was a key contributor to the design and documentation of the refurbishment of 260 Queen Street in Brisbane’s CBD, St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School Sports Precinct, and the Marian Centre at Brigidine College, Indooroopilly.
